How can my child use these background templates at home?

For an independent research task, you could ask your 5-7-year-old to do a project on a specific topic - Vikings, for example. Using books from your local library, the Internet or perhaps a local museum, ask your child to find out a specific question about the Vikings. It could be, 'how big were the Viking's ships?'
