The Bronze Age was a historical period following the Stone Age in Britain that lasted approximately 1500 years. The Bronze age was so-called as human civilisations developed to make tools out of Bronze which was also already in use in other countries around the world but was only prevalent in Britain from around 2100 BC. Some groups of Bronze Age civilisations developed early writing and other important advances included irrigation, the wheel and the potter’s wheel. Children will begin to learn about The Bronze Age from KS2 as part of their history lessons using a variety of written, taught and practical activities and games.
